the 5th annual tikkun leil shavuot: COME LEARN WITH US!
You’re invited to Up All Night: Shavuot 5784/2024 where we will be exploring the idea of “Learning as Tikkun.”
Our evening will include learning, music, noshing, schmoozing, building community and cheesecake!
Workshops lead by community members will help us ask what Shavuot teaches us about how to learn as a means of Tikkun, healing or repair, and will include opportunities to learn through the body, community, and text.
Join us for embodied Hebrew learning for all levels, inclusive and accessible Torah study, unionizing 101, insights from the Cultural Shift survey about the experiences and perspectives of Jews of Color in the Pacific Northwest, a discussion about antisemitism and anti-zionism, learning about the activism of Israeli and Palestinian educators and activists and more! TischPDX’s mission and kavanah of uplifting the leadership of marginalized Jews in Portland informs the selection and design of Up All Night’s workshops and leaders.
We are excited to welcome special guest Alicia Jo Rabins to present a solo performance of Girls in Trouble, a lively musical storytelling about radical biblical women.

Last night Shavuot at the Eastside Jewish Commons (EJC) was just incredible. It was revolutionary. I have been in a lot of Jewish spaces and I haven’t seen anything like this in Oregon or on the West Coast,…..It was just amazing to see the space filled with empowered queer jews who are so aware of their Jewish identity and have expressed it in this amazing rainbow of brilliance….
